Breastfeeding Conferences for 2011

-

“Understanding newborn feeding abilities is vital knowledge for all health professionals who work with mothers and babies” says International board Certified Lactation Consultant Sue Cox, who will be presenting at “Breastfeeding: Searching for Excellence” in Brisbane November 17th and 18th and Adelaide November 21st and 22nd 2011.

Barb Glare, an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant and the director of www.breastfeedingconferences.com.au, is committed to supporting health professionals who work with breastfeeding mothers and their babies. “Many health professionals have had very little education in their courses in infant feeding, and virtually no specific breastfeeding education – yet more than 87% of mothers breastfeed, at least in the beginning. The workshops and seminars we hold are designed to be interactive, and allow plenty of time for discussion and questions. There is plenty of time allowed, in a relaxed atmosphere for networking with other health professionals. Our speakers have a wide range of clinical experience and all teaching is based on current, researched base best practice.”

Educational programs held by Breastfeedingconferences are accredited with IBCLC CERPs for Lactation Consultants, and midPLUS points through the Australian College of midwives. However, registrants come from all disciplines, including nursing, child health, allied health, dieticians, medical doctors, naturopaths and more.

Courses are held several times per year in most capital cities, and the team at breastfeedingconferences can work with specific hospitals and workplaces to design and present course that meets their particular needs.
