In a repeat of years gone by, overworked and undervalued nurses in Victorian have taken to the streets today to protest working conditions and pay rates. Fair Work Australia had previously ordered the nurses union to stop the strike, which has already closed around 1,000 beds. Despite comments from the Victorian Government that industrial action endangers the health patients, nurses are pressing on with strike. The recent industrial action and closures have once again highlighted the importance of nurses, despite the fact that nurses continue to be undervalued.
