DescriptionCQUniversity’s Bachelor of Psychology will equip you with a sound understanding of psychological principles and the critical-thinking skills necessary to become an effective psychologist. You will also develop a range of transferable skills such as data analysis and report writing that will equip you for a wide range of careers. We provide a high-quality learning experience and our staff utilise innovative methods and technology to support you, whether you are studying on-campus or by distance education.Within the Bachelor of Psychology you will cover the core areas of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council program, including social psychology, cognitive and biological psychology, personality and research methods. In addition, you will be able to personally tailor your studies through your choice of elective courses. Your studies will culminate in the honours year in which you will conduct a piece of individual research on a topic relevant to contemporary psychology. Our academic staff have diverse areas of expertise, including the social psychology of gambling, animal-human interactions, the psychological effects of natural disasters and the interaction between psychology and technology. RequirementsYou are required to complete a total of 30 courses including two level one courses, six level two courses, six level three courses, six level four courses and 10 electives.All students must attend residential school which may be based in Rockhampton or Bundaberg. To become a registered clinical psychologist, Bachelor of Psychology graduates must complete either a minimum of 2 years industry supervision or a post-graduate program such as CQUniversity’s Master of Clinical Psychology.
