Graduate certificate in Clinical Governance

Description

The Graduate Certificate in Clinical Governance introduces students to methods and instruments that form the foundation for monitoring the quality of care delivery that ensures optimal patient / client outcomes. As well, students will examine the leadership and organisational factors which are integral to the development of a strong clinical governance framework. It is envisaged the participants will develop and consolidate knowledge and skills in strengthening clinical governance frameworks and patient safety processes. This knowledge will be applicable to multiple settings within healthcare.

This program will be delivered via a virtual classroom environment. Students will need to have access to a computer with internet availability. Attendance at several face to face lectures will be available, but not compulsory. Students should discuss their study program with the course coordinator before commencing. The assessment of each unit is variable and may consist of tutorial presentations, case study, written assignments, projects and journals.

Requirements

The program will be available to registered nurses who have a previous degree or who have accumulated a wealth of experience in nursing, but who do not have a degree. These nurses will be provided with additional support when embarking on the program.
