WHAT THIS PROGRAM COVERS
The qualification will provide students with the theory and foundation skills of psychotherapy including an understanding of human experience and human behavior. There is an emphasis on self awareness and experiential learning, and students learn to understand their own processes of interaction and develop effective communication skills.
Personal therapy is a requirement of participation for this program.

* University Entrance
* Undergraduate Degree or its equivalent
* Police clearance
* Addendum and relevant experience
This qualification is designed for health professionals and volunteers whose work requires a detailed understanding of human experience and behavior. It is the first stage of AUT’s integrated and dynamic psychotherapy program that leads to qualification as a beginning psychotherapist.
Graduates who go on to complete the Master of Psychotherapy can apply for provisional membership of the New Zea land Association of Psychotherapists and under an interim scope of practice with the Psychotherapy Registration Board of Aotearoa/New Zealand.
Students must participate in an interview process for acceptance into this program.
