DescriptionDeakin Nutrition and Dietetics - Master of Dietetics is an 18 month master degree with a significant clinical placement program incorporated in the degree which on completion graduates can apply for registration with the Dietetics Association of Australia.Students completing the Master of Human Nutrition can apply for registration with the Nutrition Society of Australia. RequirementsApplicants must hold a three year Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant cognate area (for example: science, health sciences, nutrition, food science, exercise science, biomedical science, allied health or nursing) and have successfully completed one full year of study of biochemistry and a minimum of one unit of dedicated study in physiology. Applicants are also required to have completed at least 4 units (equivalent to 4 Deakin credit points) of nutrition and food science study covering content relating to principles of nutrition, lifespan nutrition and food science. Potential applicants should seek further information in regards to the exact content of the pre-requisite nutrition units needed.International students who have an IELTS score of 7 across all bands may apply for entry into the course providing they have met the prerequisites for entry NotesBachelor of Food Science and Nutrition with biochemistry elective can be a pathway to the Master of Dietetics. Graduates of the Bachelor degree can apply for membership to the Australian institute of Food Science and Technology (AIFST) and the Nutrition Society of Australia.Career opportunities Dietetics is a career rich in opportunity.
