Notes

Currently, employment opportunities within the workplace injury management and occupational rehabilitation arenas are often commonly referred to in generic terms, and seek a wide variety of health professional backgrounds (occupational therapists, physiotherapist’s occupational health nurses, case managers, occupational health and safety officers etc). This is becoming a specialist area that is difficult for individual professional groups to prepare graduates for at an undergraduate level beyond basic, beginning level skills. This program will provide graduates with in-depth knowledge of this area and will allow them to seek employment in a range of workplace injury management roles such as:

• case managers in rehabilitation provider practices and insurance companies
• injury management/rehabilitation advisers with insurance companies and large companies
• injury management personnel
• project officers with statutory authorities and within government departments
• industry advisers or injury claims consultants with insurance companies.
