Graduate Certificate in Grief and Loss
This program will equip graduates with knowledge and skills to provide specialised care to a wide range of individuals, groups, and communities who experience loss and grief as a result of some adversity.
With the focus on prevention and early intervention, our graduates will hopefully be leaders or key team members of community schemes such as child protection, aged care programs, suicide prevention, chronic illness programs, as well as services such as bereavement, palliative care or trauma services.
Applicants to the course will be required to have:
| * | A Bachelor's degree in either health, social work or other related field. | |
| * | Relevant work experience in teh field of loss and grief. | |
| * | Employed in a setting that manages issues of loss and grief. |
The course will consist of four units and are interlinked academically:
| 1. | Professional Development | |
| 2. | Understanding the Common Issues surrounding Loss and Grief across the Lifecycle | |
| 3. | Understanding the Issues of Loss and Grief in Chronic Illness, Palliative Care and Ageing | |
| 4. | Understanding the Loss & Grief Experience Surrounding Emergency, Trauma and Sudden Death |
