Physiotherapist - Griffith Base Hospital
Employment Status: Permanent Part Time.
Position Summary
The Level 3 Physiotherapist is responsible for delivering effective and efficient physiotherapy services to the population of the Greater Southern Area Health Service at Griffith Base Hospital.
The position involves a range of clinical and administrative functions necessary for delivery of physiotherapy services in an acute setting within the team. The Level 2 Physiotherapist will rotate through the various departments covering acute medical and surgical wards, Rehabilitation ward and Physiotherapy outpatient services including programs such as cardiac rehabilitation and fall prevention groups.
Selection Criteria
Degree in Physiotherapy.
Current Registration or eligibility for registration with the Physiotherapy Registration board of NSW.
Demonstrated ability to provide a high standard of evidence based clinical assessment and intervention to patients with acute and acute-on-chronic conditions.
Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients and their relatives and health professionals who provide services to and within health care organisations.
Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads in order to achieve effective and efficient service provision.
Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Ability to cover annual leave and sick days if needed.
Current driver's licence.
Principal Responsibilities
Clinical
Provide high quality evidence based assessment and treatment to patients with acute and surgical conditions.
Provide physiotherapy services to all areas of the hospital or outpatient programs as required and/or indicated by the physiotherapist in charge.
Monitor patient outcomes and adjust clinical intervention, treatment protocols or compliance with protocols/plans accordingly.
Assist in the supervision with the physiotherapy assistant.
Participate in education activities for the physiotherapy department and other hospital staff that promote evidence based practice and protocols.
Ensure appropriate multidisciplinary clinical team work can occur through timely referral and close cooperation with other disciplines.
Participate in clinical, OH&S or other systems Quality Improvement initiatives.
Comply with Child Protection and Domestic Violence policies & procedures and attend mandatory training.
