Lead Physiotherapist

Medacs Healthcare are currently recruiting for qualified Physiotherapists specialising in Orthopaedics to work in privately run hospitals in the UK.

The experienced clinician will coordinate the daily activities of the Orthopaedic physiotherapy service at the hospital, providing leadership and promoting high quality evidence based physiotherapy assessment, treatment and management.

They will be responsible for identifying, implementing and promoting quality improvement initiatives within the orthopaedic physiotherapy service and will be responsible for the supervision and development of the orthopaedic staff members.

This will be an experienced clinician who has undertaken significant post graduate education in Physiotherapy, with well developed clinical skills and proven ability to lead and organise a team.

Knowledge and Understanding

  • Physiotherapy Degree or equivalent
  • Current registered member of Health Professions Council (HPC)
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Membership of Professional interest group
  • Postgraduate education and working at or completed Masters or equivalent
  • Specialist knowledge and application of Physiotherapy assessment and interventions in Orthopaedic and Musculoskeletal conditions with intervention selection demonstrated through advanced clinical reasoning skills
  • Evidence of ability to develop guidelines and care pathways. 
  • Ability to work autonomously and set own priorities
  • Ability to analyse professional and ethical issues.
  • Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance and that of others
  • Awareness of legislation and health and safety issues
  • A clear understanding of clinical governance and its implications for quality service delivery
  • Documented evidence of CPD including reflective practice
  • Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication
  • Experience in supervising and development of a team of physiotherapists
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using computer programs, including but not limited to Microsoft word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to observe confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Ability to participate in weekend rota and weekend and weekday on call rotas 

 

* In order to practice Physiotherapy in the UK, candidates must be registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC) or be prepared to complete the Overseas Nursing Programme (ONP) in the UK in order to apply for HPC registration.
