Simulation and Skills Centre – MMC Moorabbin

Applications are invited for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Manager to join our busy dynamic team at the Southern Health Simulation and Skills Centre (the Centre), which is a state-of-the-art education and training unit at the Moorabbin campus of Monash Medical Centre. The target clientele are health care professionals - medical, nursing and allied health - of all levels of experience, undergraduate and postgraduate, internal and external to Southern Health. Its core business is education and training of health care professionals who work in clinical teams using innovative team-based training methods in a synthetic learning environment.

The Manager of the Centre is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Centre, including business development, public relations, client relationships and budget management. The Manager will also ensure that the delivery of the Centre services, including education, curriculum development, research output, and evaluation of training programs, are carried out effectively and efficiently.

You will possess:

• high level leadership, communication and interpersonal skills;

• proven ability to lead and manage a small, interdisciplinary team, build morale and a supportive environment and deliver a high performance working environment;

• demonstrated track record in negotiating successful outcomes and dealing with a range of stakeholders;

• a demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, excellence and best practice;

• ability to develop performance measures and assist staff to work effectively and achieve goals;

• ability to think in a creative and entrepreneurial manner and contribute to marketing and overall profile of a growing organisation;

• experience in a health service domain, preferably in simulation centre management.
