Position Summary
The position of Registered Nurse Midwife is responsible and accountable for the delivery of Health Care on a day to day basis. The Registered Nurse is generally responsible for the following:
Working within the policies and procedures as set down by Greater Southern Area Health Service (GSAHS) and Leeton Hospital.
Providing a high level of ante-natal, care during delivery, post natal nursing care and primary health care.
Ensuring Continuum of Care and a holistic integrated approach to all aspects of patient/client care.
Encouraging active participation and decision making in partnership with patients/clients regarding their health and well being.
Education of patients and other staff in relation to health/wellbeing and care management.
Selection Criteria
Demonstrated successful experience as a Registered Nurse/Midwife in either the public or private sectors and demonstrated ability to provide efficient nursing practice.
Demonstrated ability to plan, access, evaluate and record nursing care appropriately.
Demonstrated participation in ongoing education and professional development.
