The Healthy skin and Eyes Program is a new initiative that will take a population health approach to improving the eye and skin health of residents in the region, by specifically targeting trachoma and scabies in the population of children.

With a strong emphasis on health promotion and community development, the Healthy skin and Eyes Coordinator's role will be to:

. work collaboratively with other staff and stakeholders to build capacity within the KwHB workforce and communities to eliminate scabies and trachoma

. establish and lead a program of routine surveillance, clinical treatment and community education

. advocate for improved healthy skin and eyes services

The successful applicant will not necessarily need to have any prior experience with trachoma or scabies as they will be supported with orientation, training and advice about KwHB's approach to screening and treatment of these conditions in our region.

This position is based in Katherine and involves extensive travel to remote communities. An ability to communicate effectively and work within a multidisciplinary primary health care team is essential.
