Visas and Work Permits

There are two main types of visas Health Professionals can apply for to work in the United States:

         * A permanent (immigrant) visa also known more commonly as a ‘green card’
         * A temporary (non-immigrant) visa: H-1B, H-1C, TN (Trade NAFTA) and new E3            (Speciality Work Visa available for Australian citizens only)

Registration

To work as a nurse in the United States, applicants must pass the NCLEX exam administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN). The exam is administered on a daily basis all year round and the requirements vary from State to State in America.
